The one thing that I hope Donald Trump accomplishes during his presidency more than anything is to abolish all laws that violate the Constitution. Especially those that violate the 2nd Amendment.

This is a busy day for California gun stores. It’s the last day they can legally sell so called assault-style weapons before a new law takes effect that makes them all but impossible to get in this state.
By Wednesday afternoon, there were just a handful of AR-15 rifles, and just one AK-47 on display at City Arms in Pleasant Hill. This past week, they’ve been selling like hot cakes.
“It has been insane. It has been non-stop from the time we open until we close,” said Samantha McDonald, City Arms.
And here’s just one day’s worth of applications from people registering to buy one of the guns before the deadline.
“We got a note back in November that most manufacturers will stop producing California legal AR15 and AK47 style rifles,” said Roman Kaplan, City Arms.
That’s because these rifles will be illegal with the start of new year. In the past, opponents have tried to make these rifles less lethal by restricting the number of bullets they can hold in their magazines to 10, and by slowing how quickly you can change magazines by requiring a tool like an ink pen or even a bullet to access a so called bullet button. Starting January 1, bullet buttons will be illegal, and removing the magazine will require taking the rifle apart. But, what that means is still not clear. So they’re playing it safe. Wednesday afternoon City Arms workers started taking down the few remaining rifles to send back to distributors. It’s a law they don’t agree with, but will obey.
“They’re making it so that good people can’t get the guns that they want,” said McDonald.
They fully expect the new law to be challenged in court.
